GSA Building Products
- Advanced Armour
Creating solutions through the supply of a range of products in the SmartGlass portfolio, including laminated, double glazed and coated glass products.
Quality laminated glass, including the leading brand, Intruderprufe, double glazed glass units and other value added glass products, are supplied by GSA Building Products along with mirror, coated and toughened glass products.
Laminated glass is made when two pieces of glass (ClearVue and/or DecorVue) are bonded together by a tough interlayer – a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) plastic interlayer that is sealed between the two pieces of glass under heat and pressure. The result is a high performance glass product that maintains its integrity and withstands hard blows from a solid object.
Laminated glass is similar to the glass used in car windscreens. The PVB interlayer is clear and therefore invisible when viewed through the glass. However, interlayers can be tinted to produce colours for architectural applications.
Double glazed glass is made by joining two or more panels of glass, held apart by a spacer, and applying a bond around the edges. Double glazed glass, also known as sealed insulated glass, is used for demanding solutions to thermal insulation and solar, safety, security and acoustic control needs.
